Typing character "b" causes cursor to jump

The point to which the cursor jumps is (apparently) random -- sometimes back
a couple spaces into the middle of an previous word, sometimes up or down the
page (i.e.: a different line), sometimes into a different window. It only
happens about half the time -- though the frequency is difficult to judge on
account of the letter "b" not appearing that frequently. I guess it could be
a difficulty with my keyb (there, just did it - jumped to follow the e. in
i.e.) keyboard, but I'm thinking it might also be a Word issue.
Any ideas?

There's nothing specifically in Word that would cause that, and the fact that it
happens in other programs (I assume you were posting your message in your
browser when it happened) also argues that it's something common to those
programs.

If you're using a laptop, be careful to stay well away from the touchpad. I
can't think why that would single out the letter b, though.

If you can, try using a different keyboard to see if the problem goes away.
