TXT file conversion to DOC?

Are there any methods or tools that will convert documents written in MS DOS
txt to a formatted Word document? The txt document has a TOC and about 100
pages. To go in and manually change various lines of text to a Word style
would be an arduous task.

If it is actually an MS DOS text file (.txt) you should be able to simply
use the typical File> Open method, then Save As a .doc - have you not been
able to do so?

I'm afraid, though, that you'll have to do the formatting yourself - text
files carry *no* information with regard to formatting, so there's nothing
to be "converted" other than the plain text content. Word _does_ have an
AutoFormat feature, but how successful it might be for any given file is
quite "iffy" on a good day:)

If this info doesn't answer your question supply more detail about your
objective, your attempts/results & specify what version of Word you're
using.
