Is there a way to connect two routers on one LAN. I have a LINKSYS WRT54GS ( Wireless 54g Router ) that works great. Now my work is trying to implement a VPN and they gave us a Netgear FVS318. I want to keep my wirless capability but I have to use the FVS318 for my VPN access ( when we get it to work)
Can anyone point me to some documentation on how to do this?
Thanks
Use the Netgear as the network's router. Use the Linksys as a
wireless access point, disabling its router capability:
1. Disconnect the Linksys from the Internet and the LAN.
2. Connect the Netgear to the Internet and the LAN.
3. Reboot the LAN computers or disable/enable their network
connections.
4. Determine the IP subnet that the Netgear uses (e.g. 192.168.0.x).
5. Connect one computer to a wired port on the Linksys and access its
built-in web server (usually
http://192.168.1.1).
6. Assign the Linksys a static LAN IP address in the same subnet that
the Netgear uses (e.g. 192.168.0.254).
7. Disable the Linksys' DHCP server.
8. Connect a LAN port on the Linksys to a LAN port on the Netgear.
You might have to use an uplink port on one router. Don't connect
anything to the Linksys' WAN (Internet) port.
