Two messengers???

R

Rob

When i turn on my computer i get pop ups from messenger
from people saying high. The problem is i do not have my
settings set for auto start up on messenger. I go into my
program directory and i see two messengers (msn messenger
6.1 and windows messenger) I go into my and and remove
programs and there is only msn messenger 6.1. I have also
gone into my control panel and user accounts and deleate
from my network passwords and now have to enter my name
and password to sign into messenger. This seems to be the
only way to stop the second messenger from auto signing
in. Is there anyone else having this problem and can
anyone help me solve it. Thanks----Rob

Hi,

Take a look at Doug Knox's Website at this link for detailed instructions on
how to disable your Windows Messenger.
http://www.dougknox.com/xp/tips/xp_messenger_remove.htm

When you do this your Windows Messenger won't show up in your taskbar
anymore

However if you want to completely remove/uninstall Windows Messenger from
Windows XP can be found at this website made by Jonathan Kay.
http://messenger.jonathankay.com/problem.aspx?ID=7

Follow the steps and the pictures that the website has and you shouldn't
have anymore problems. Uninstalling Windows Messenger can disable some of
the messenger features such as Whiteboard Sharing, and others on MSN
Messenger if you're using that.
