We have two domain controllers in our organization. For the sake of discussion I'll call them DCA and DCB. They are Windows 2003. I have two questions - one regarding DNS and the other for time synchronization
1.) DNS - they both have DNS installed (Active Directory integrated). So, in the IP settings for each DC, should they point to themselves as the primary DNS server, and the other as secondary, or vice versa? Does it matter
2.) Time synchronization - DCA is set to grab time externally. I haven't changed any settings on DCB, so it is, by default, trying to synch time with DCA. Sometimes this fails with errors in the event log for some reason (even though communication is good). I have applied hotfix 830092. Is this the best way to have it setup, or would it be better to have them both grabbing time from the same external source?
Thanks
