Excel 2002 SP3

User has a single file. When she opens this file, two copies (two separate
documents) are opened and :1 and :2 are added to the end of the respective
filenames. What is causing this behavior with this particular file and how
do we stop it? We only want one version of this file. Thanks in advance!

The cause is that she selected Window/New Window.

Close one of the windows, and the :1/:2 will disappear.

Just some more info...

Select the window to close and hit ctrl-f4.

Remember to save the file the way you like it.

Thank you, worked like a charm. I've seen this before but it was several
years ago and I couldn't even find the right terminology to use to find
anything in Help.
