Tweak regisry to disable SAVE AS and other things in IE7

I would like to make IE read-only as part of a family internet access filter.
What I'd like would be to prevent users from using:
--SAVE
--SAVE-AS
--COPY
--CUT (you can't remove text, but it still fills the clipboard like COPY)
and preferably
--the ability to bookmark favorites.

It would be ideal to prevent downloading as well, but not essential as this
is covered by other aspects of the safety filtering.

It is possible to do this by tweaking the registry or any other kind of
"deep administration", just of IE7 alone? I know there are security
programmes which can achieve this on an all-programs basis.
With many thanks

While it may be possible to cripple Internet Explorer in that way or
something similar, I would strongly advise against it. It's always a bad
idea to use software in a manner that is unsupported, and particularly
when that means hacking the Windows registry.

All updates to Windows and all software that was written to work with
Internet Explorer were designed on the basis of Internet Explorer being
used in the way it was intended.

To keep your family safe from the internet, IMHO, you need three things:

1 - You need to buy parental control software. There's an enormous
variety of these programs. You will almost certainly find one that can
protect your family.

2 - You need to inform yourself about the many threats on the internet
and learn how to protect your family from them.

3 - You need to learn how your computer works better than your kids (and
their friends) do.

Step 1 is where you start, but you won't have full security unless you
do the rest.

It's tempting to search instead for some 'silver bullet' but you'll only
end up shooting yourself in the foot.
