TV Tuner

Hi,

I recently bought a NVTV single tuner, but I have a problem, it will only work
with Windows Media Center Edition.

Is there any way to make it work with XP Pro, if not can any one suggest another
one that will let me record TV programming sort of like a VCR

BTW I have an all nVidia system (graphic board and motherboard chipset) so I
don't think that an ATI would work well

Thank you in Advance

Merci a l'Avance

You should be asking the manufacture that question. For most applications,
XP is very critical with its drivers, and other aspects.

See if these very popular software progs support your card.

heres a longer list

I didnt even know Nvidia had a TV tuner chipset with hardware MPEG2
encoding. Apparently yours is one I think.

If its too new or too unpopular to find support for it and you can
return it try the Hauppauge 150 which is extremely popular.

Ive already posted about 4-5 times in this sub recently.

There are basical two main versions -

Retail pack for 99 but it was on sale recently (its over ) at compusa
for 69 after rebate. It comes with software and remote no FM radio.
You get hardware mpeg2, tuner and stereo sound.

The other is the MCE version 150 which comes in a short card version
(small card for small cases ) and a regular sized card. Both are
essentially the same and sell on Amazon for 63-66 sometime as high as
73. Comes with NO software just drivers. Has FM radio, stereo sound,
tuner and MPEG2 hardware encoding.

You can buy a separate remote control for it and other TV cards and
3rd party programs I listed above -- Sage TV and Beyond TV are really
popular progs that allow full PVR type use with recording. Cost extra
bucks though but they have trial versions.

If you go to many sites they are all getting the Hauppauges 150,500
etc.
