Turning OFF Windows Cd-r Recording

Hi, Does anyone know how to turn off the Windows xp pro
systems "default cd recording facility" I am trying to use
a preferred 3rd party CD recording program and which does
not have a patch upgrade for Win XP - thanks

Go to Start > Run and type: SERVICES.MSC , and hit enter.
Scroll down to "IMAPI CD-Burning COM Service", right-click
on this service and select Properties > Startup type > Disabled,
then click Apply.

Open My Computer, double-click the My Computer icon on the desktop.
Right click your CD drive
Properties
Recording tab
Uncheck: Enable CD Recording on this drive check box
Apply
OK
Close My Computer
