Good question. Why are you asking here? It has absolutely nothing to do
with the Windows XP operating system which is what this group is set up
to assist with. You have a problem inside the box that is connection
related and since you have opened the box several times and still
haven't found the loose connection, take it to a shop, so someone can
fix it.

This is a hardware issue, not an XP OS issue. Best if you asked in a
hardware newsgroup.

Your replies will only be as useful as the information provided. No
numbers is why nobody can answer with anything but speculation (and
other comments). Procedure to get those numbers takes about two
minutes in "When your computer dies without warning....." starting 6
Feb 2007 in the newsgroup alt.windows-xp at:
http://tinyurl.com/yvf9vh

Especially important are what those numbers do before and when power
switch is pressed. Remember, it is a power supply 'system'. More
than just a switch and a power supply. In but two minutes, those
numbers should point in the direction of, if not identify, the
suspect.

Since whoever approved the MS XP operating system, also approved that "turn
off the computer" can mean off, standby, or hibernate, your post leaves
something to be desired in which one of those are true in your case.
