turn off pointer in Power Point slide shows

I have Powerpoint 2003 and have setup a slideshow to run in Kiosk mode. I
have a shortcut to the presentation in the startup folder. When the
computer is turned on, the show starts, but the pointer is in the middle of
the screen. The help file references a Pointer Options located on the
SlideShow toolbar, but the Pointer Options selection does not exist. Is
there another way to disable the pointer?

If I recall correctly, you will need to create a custom pointer image file
and use the custom cursor. I think it may have been Steve who I heard it
from. He suggested using a custom single pixel pointer for just the type of
situation you described.

I do not know the size or color depth of a cursor image file, perhaps
someone else will chime in with how to create the custom cursor image file.

The cursor settings are adjusted thru the Windows operating system and not
thru PowerPoint. Usually it will be a path something like this:
Start | Settings | Control panel | Mouse | Pointers | select the one you
created

And here I thought nobody was listening. ;-)

Make the pointer or cursor go away (screenshow)

Wildwood,

Just out of interest....

Why have you set the show to kiosk mode it you don't want the pointer to show?

I thought that most touchscreens emulate the touch as a mouse position and click?

Yup. But the pointer's your finger. You may not want a visual cursor.
