Hi all, I turned all menus/toolbars off in the startup for a database I was
working on to preview the "clean" user interface. Unfortunately I am now
unable to get back to any of the menu/toolbars. The "View" drop-down menu is
not on the menu bar anymore. Help!

Hold the shift key while you open the file.

Have you started the db while holding down the shift key? Then right-clicking
the menu bar area at the top, and selecting the menu.

Worked...thanks a lot!

sir , even holding shift key its not working
view & tools menu r not shown in my access file

I knew about holding down the Shift key while starting up the database, but
I'm having a problem making it work on a database that has a password on it.
I have to let go of the Shift key to type in the password, but then unable to
hit the Shift key again (or fast enough) before it finished loading up.

I want to setup this database so that the users can't access the Full Menus
(they keep messing up the designed forms, queries, etc...) but if I do that
then I have a problem opening up the database with Full Menus so I can do
work on it ... how do you get around using the Shift key when there is also a
password prompt that pops up?

Try this sequence

Start up holding down the shift key.
When the password prompt appears, let go of the shift key
Type in the password (but don't hit tab or enter)
Hold down the shift key
Press enter or Tab

If that doesn't work and your Password is all lower case letters then
Enable CAPS LOCK
Startup holding down the shift key
Enter the password while holding down the shift key
Press enter or tab while holding down the shift key

Thanks for the reply!

Fortunately I found the same answer a little later that day by searching
another help board. This tip works great - why isn't it mentioned on the
help screen in Access Help??!!??

It works like you said, I help down the Shift key while I opend the
database, then was prmopted for the password. I typed in the password ...
but before hitting Enter or clicking the OK button I held down the Shift key
again .. and THEN clicked the OK button ... and Access started right up with
Full Menus.

Thanks again!
