TS license server

I actived my terminal server license with 8 cals. But
when I go back to the licensing icon, it says that there
is no license server in my domain. It will let me connect
to the server (i only have one win2000 server) and then I
see the licenses. I have several clients connecting over
the internet. But one client won't connect, it says there
is an error in the license protocol. When I look at the
license server for TS, it doesn't show any of the CAL's
being used. HELP!

Sounds as if the Terminal Server cannot locate the Licensing Server.
This can happen even if they are installed on the same physical
machine (which I understand that they are in your situation, since
you only have one W2K server).
Try to hardcode the address of the LS into the rgistry of the TS:

239107 - Establishing Preferred Windows 2000 Terminal Services
License Server

I did what you recommended, and it seemed to work;
although I still have to "connect" to the server to see
the available CAL's. 3 of the connections are Win98, and
should be using a CAL each, but it still shows all 8
available. Any thoughts on why??

Thanks
Justin
