TS "cannot issue client licence"

D

DAN

I regularly login to a clients TS server from home.

However the past week i have not been able to. I get the
message on my client end saying "could not connect to
server....." then possible reasons 1) 2) 3)
and in the event log of the server their is 1004 "cannot
issue client licence" The client is XP Pro.

Every other machine i have tried (even behind the same
router as mine) works and logs in fine (including
other "remote" PC's over Internet). I look in
the "licence" list on the TS sever and their is one
corresonding to my PC's name, i even tried renaming my PC
(long shot that one) to no effect.

I also deleted the TS registry bit that MS recommends on
its knowledge base and rebooting the server, no luck.

Is it possible there is something on my local PC causing
the issue? Any ideas/fixes would be great im at a loss
here. I could probably format/reload my PC, but given its
a HTPC with days of config, that certainly ain't gonna
happen :)

Thanks in advance
Danny

Don't reinstall your PC, it's almost certainly that that is not
necessary to solve the problem. If it's a license problem on the
server, it won't even help.

Exactly which "TS registry bit" have you deleted? And did you delete
it from the servers registry or from the client?

Have you deleted the license from the clients registry?

Have you verified that the server does *not* log event 1010 (cannot
locate license server)?
What is the status of your license in TS Licensing Manager? Does it
have an expiration date?

Check this as well. Although the error message is slightly different,
it has caused the same problem as you see:

Services Server

Thanks for the reply,

Im not getting a 1010 error and the TS licencing does not
have expirey dates listed. All other PC's login fine,
both LAN and over net including one behind the same
router as my home PC.

I think it is client releated, i will try your
suggestions and let you know.

Thanks

Danny

UPDATE:

I deleted the registry sections in your provided links
both on the server and my local PC.

Now it logs in, whoo hoooo

Thanks for the help
