TS CALs and XP Home

Here's my problem.... I have a Citrix/Terminal Server
Windows 2000 and many of our users are accessing the
system either from home or from public systems such as
hotel kiosks. I realize that we need TS Cals for the XP
Home machines but I don't want to issue tokens for the
Kiosk computers. These systems would only be used once in
most cases and would then be alocated a license. How can
I prevent this and still issue tokens when needed and then
revoke them once the user(s)are finished?

Automatic license expiration should solve most, if not all, of
this.

If a client is connecting only *once*, it only takes a temporary
license (it is on the second connection that a permanent license
is issued).

But even if a permanent license is issued to a kiosk client, the
license will automatically expire after 52-89 days and be returned
to the license pool on the TS Licensing Server.
That means that you will need as many TS CAls as the number of
connections from kiosk clients (that are used more than once)
under a running period of 52-89 days.

The only requirement for this feature is that your TS CALs were
installed on your LS *after* the LS got SP3 (the expiration date
of TS CALs was introduced with SP3).

If your TS CALs were installed before SP3, they won't have an
expiration date, and are permanently issued to a fixed client. If
that is your situation (you can verify in LS Manager if the
expiration date is listed), then you have to phone the
Clearinghouse, and they will re-issue your TS CALs. The new TS
CALs will have an expiration date (you *are* running at least SP3
now, I presume), so this problem should disappear over time.
