TS 2k3 - client settings tab, all options greyed out???

I have been running terminal server 2003 edition for 8 months now at a
client of mine, as of last week, the server stopped automatically
mapping remote users printers when they log in, looking at the RDP 5.2
connection settings, under the "client settings" tab, everything in the
"disable the following" section is checked and greyed out so i cant
uncheck it, the only box on that tab i can check or uncheck is the "use
connection settings from user settings" box, but checking and
unchecking it doesnt change anything for the remote users getting their
printers mapped. I can also change the "limit maximum color depth"
option but that is all i can change. Any ideas how i can get my remote
users printers mapped again?? i upgraded to sp1 for win 2003 also and
its standard edition.
thanks in advance
Andy

this was also happening both before i installed SP1 and after, so
installing SP1 didnt help or hurt.

Check the Group Policy Object that applies to this server. Settings in
Group Policy will override and cause the options to be grayed out.

The settings are under:

Comp-->Admin Temp-->Wind Comp-->Term Serv-->Client/Serv

Thanks.

sorry how to get to where you are talking about in group policies??

Open up the group policy object editor and take a look.

comp = Computer Configuration
admin temp = Administrative Templates

There is tons of information about Group Policy in Help
and Support, as well as on the web.

To open the Group Policy help file directly:

Start-->Run-->c:\windows\help\gpedit.chm

Thanks.

thanks TP I am about to remove or add the checks now into the greyed
out boxes by editing the group policy, even though the options in the
client settings tab are still greyed out. This wouldnt be related to
the fact that only the administrator can log into the terminal server
now would it. now whenever anyone tries to log in, even with domain
admin rights in the domain, they get a login screen and can enter their
password and username, but than the screen only goes to the solid blue
background color and never loads the icons on the screen or the start
bar along the bottom now??
