My pc runs vista. The Computer I am currently trying to shut down is a xp. Have a network fully set up. The compter name is \\TED. When I use the CMD:
shutdown -m \\TED -r -f
I get; TED: Access is Denied. (5)

If anyone can help me I would really appreciate it. And if you need more info just leave a reply.

Well well well ... it works. :thumb:

XP, with SP2, has this new "feature" that blocks "attack" from the outside. You can turn it off, but then anything may get access to your XP system.

The "safe" workaround is to use another method of what you're tryin to do. :D

So how do I turn off this feature??
You don't want to ... it would be detrimental to the health of the PC. ;)

Why not just use, from the RUN command, shutdown.exe -i ... is a wee bit easier, or so I'm told. :D
