Trying to format my crappy computer

I am trying to format my computer, but I keep getting the
messege... "Format cannot run because the volume is in
use by another process. FOr mat may run if this volume is
dismounted first. ALL OPENED HANDLES TO THIS VOLUME WOULD
THEN BE INVALID. Would you like to dismount on this
volume?" WHen I hit "yes" I get an error messege that
says "Cannot lock the drive. THe volume is still in use."

Well of course you can't! It's common sense! You can't format the Windows
drive/partition from within Windows! Windows is using it!
