Trust with windows 2003 AD domain

I have a windows 2000 SP4 DC (domain: ivtdomain1.com) that has an external
non-transitive trust with a windows 2003 server (domain: ivt-leipzig.de).
The trust was initially successfully established awhile back. But now almost
daily we come in and cannot validate the trust. Sometimes it works but more
often than not it fails. I also have a windows 2003 DC server (domain:
ivtdomain1.com) that I attempted to validate the trust as well. Here is the
message I receive:
The outgoing trust was successfully validated.
The secure channel (SC) reset on domain controller
\\server-le-01.IVT-Leipzig.de of domain IVT-Leipzig.de to domain
ivtdomain1.com failed with error: There are currently no logon servers
available to service the logon request.

Thanks. Please help.

Check DNS SRV records. You have to make sure you're transferring the zones
to each other or the DNS you're pointing to has zones for both domains,
including SRV records.

I have an external, non-transitive trust between two domains where the DCs
are connected by a VPN. When the VPN is down I get that exact message. I go
fire it up and in a few minutes everything is happy again. Have you checked
for general connectivity between DCs in the two domains when things are not
working (ping, etc. from DC to DC)?
