I would like to know if somebody has configured in
production a trust between a Windows NT 4.0 Domain and a
Windows 2k3 Domain (AD).
I need to set a trust between both domains to allow users
from the Windows 2k3 Domain to access resources in the
Windows NT Domain and vice versa.

Thanks,

It works fine. Are you getting any errors?

We haven't configured it yet. I am creating some
scenarios to the client and I just want to make sure the
cenario with trusts between WNT Domains and W2k3 Domains
work since I have never seen such configuration in
production.

This works fine. The main problem with trusts is name (and service)
resolution. When talking NT, that usually means WINS is needed.

Correct. You can use a WINS or a LMHOSTS File on the WINNT 4.0 PDC as well
as on the WIN2003 Domain Controller that holds the FSMO Role of PDC Emulator
and then use netdom to create the trust. I like to use netdom to create
trusts between WINNT 4.0 and WIN200x Domains. Sometimes using the WIN200x
ADDT MMC it does not work - although everything is correct!

netdom is a utility included with the Support Tools!

HTH,

Cary
