Truncated *.htm files

Does anyone know of a way to rescue *.htm files whose file names were
truncated when they were "saved" to a CD? (Well, any means other than trial
and error pasting into a word processor.) It seems that the data is still
all there but the *.htm file can not find them due to the truncation.
Thanks

Nope, the links are invalid so you will need to recreate them if you
want the hyperlink to point to the file again.

Thanks Steve. (Your old reply does not show up in my Outlook Express.)
The link ID is grayed out when I right click an image outline on one of the
disasters. I think I just have to give up on this one. At least, I now
know not to save suggested *.htm file names longer than 64 characters. I
must be the only one who has had this problem since I never noticed any
other such calls for help.
Thanks again.

Understood. Wierd stuff happens in usenet, messages don't always
propogate to all servers in a timely manner, or at all sometimes, among
other anomolies.

If it was real imprtant you could edit the whole works on a HDD, test it
and then save to CD with intact links, short enough file/path names,
etc. A hassle, though. I wouldn't bother with it unless it was a
critical project for some reason.

The CDFS limits get hit once in a while here. Not as often as FAT32
limits do though :)
Thanks again.

You're welcome.
