True Type Fonts In Word 2007

If this has been asked before, I apologize. I've noticed that some of my
fonts are not appearing as they should in Word. When I go into the Fonts
folder in the Control Panel, all font preview as they should be, yet appear
as something else, usually rather plain and looking nothing like the font or
any other that I recognize (not that I'm a font expert.

How do I rectify this small, yet slightly annoying problem?
