True multi-monitor support but still no "presenter" view

XP Home, PPT 2002, Sony Vaio laptop with an external monitor port, Intel 830
graphics controller with true multi-monitor support - that is, I can set
independent resolution and color depth settings for each monitor.

I can open two different Excel files, two different Word files, or two
different Outlook windows on my different monitors. But I can't open two
Powerpoint files and have them display on different monitors. Nor can I
find the command for "presenter view" anywhere in the menu structure or in
the options.

When I search for "presenter view" in the PPT help, nothing comes up. Under
"multimonitor support", there's a discussion of presenter view, but no
instructions for how to invoke it.

I've read Paul Iordanides' and Chirag Dalal's articles on rdpslides.com, but
am no closer to solving this.

Any ideas?

PowerPoint will open one instance as opposed to Word and Excel opening
multiple instances. With PowerPoint you will need to stretch the window
across both displays and Arrange All to see multiple files.

Presenter View: to clarify, you have checked in Slide Show / Set Up Show
and in the Multiple monitors section you have no option for Display slide
show on: Primary Monitor or Monitor 2. You should have this option when
PowerPoint detects more than one monitor. How are you setting up extended
desktop.....with Windows or with the Intel driver?

Aha. I was thinking it was a view to be invoked. Now I see that it's an
option of the slideshow view.

Thanks for the pointer.

Cool tip, thanks.

I thought it was a view (in the View menu). Now I see that it's an option
in the Slideshow view - once I checked the box, I got the view.
Thanks.
