trouble with links in email

I have Windows Mail with my Vista. All off a sudden, I get an error when
ever I click on a link within a email that is in my mailbox inbox and
folders. The pop up usually tells me that the application cannot be found.
This can't be true. I must of change a setting within my email, with Windows
Mail. Does anyone know how I can remedy this. Thanks

I assume the link you clicked on is for a website. If so:

Go to Default Programs, which you can access either from the Start
menu or via the Control Panel, then click the first item: "Set your default
programs."
After a few seconds a list of programs comes up. Click on Internet Explorer.
If it doesn't respond with "This program has all its defaults" then fix it by
clicking on the option indicated by the first green arrow.

I think that I have found the solution, by reading past post, related to
this issue. I have gone to the Control Panel, and re-adjusted my settings
under Default Program; re-setting Windows Mail as my default.
Now I got the links opening up with Internet Explorer. I think that is
the browser that they opened up in the past. Now my question is there a
setting that I can adjust that will open the links up in my default/main
browser which is Firefox? Thanks

You can try selecting Firefox as your default in Default Programs,
but several people have reported here that when Firefox is the default
browser, URL links in email don't work. This is more of a Firefox
shortcoming than a fault of Vista.
