Trouble Viewing PDF files from Explorer

I cannot view any PDF files directly from any website that
I go to. When I try to do so, all that loads on my
computer is a blank white screen with a red "X" box in the
upper left corner of the screen. And I have downloaded
Adobe Acrobat correctly so I know that it runs. Please
help.

This worked for me. In Acrobat or Acrobat Reader go to Edit > Preferences >
General > Internet and uncheck the box that says "allow pdf files to open in
browser".
