Trouble linking SQL 2005 tables with MS Access 2003 ODBC

I am trying to Link SQL 2005 tables with MS Access ODBC. I setup an ODBC
System DSN to the SQL 2005 database. The test says the connection is working.
When I use the link table feature, and select Files of type (ODBC
Databases()) the link form closes. I get no error messages.

SQL 2005 resides on the same computer as MS Access 2003.

Any suggestions?

There have been many reports recently about this problem for users who have
made a recent installation of Norton Anti-Virus 2006. Try deactivating the
option called Office Plug-In.

Sylvain,

Thanks for your feedback ...
I do have Norton Anti-Virus 2006 installed on my computer. I could not find
Office Plug-In. But I did set Access, Word, Excel, and all SQL items to
Permit-All.
But this did not solve the problem.
Anything else?

I don't have NAV 2006 myself, so I cannot help you anymore but from another
post:

Select Options; Then Select to Miscellaneous Options. DESELECT Office
plug-ins.

I this doesn't work, then try deactivating or removing NAV 2006.

Sylvain,

I found the area you were talking about in Norton and now the ODBC in Access
works. Why would Norton do this to us.
Thanks again for your help

Richard
