trouble importing video from camera card

When trying to import video from my "camera card" I have used 2 different
methods: 1. Import Video: when I select my "Removable Card" there is nothing
there. 2. Capture from Device: no device detected.

How do I get my videos from my camera card into Move Maker?

Movie Maker is designed to work with firewire connected camcorders.
Either copy the file from the card to the pc and then convert it to a file
MM will recognise, wmv would be best, or use the app which came with the
camera.
