trouble importing messages in windows mail

I am trying to import my existing email messages from outlook express
(winxp) to vista's mail program using the input mail way. Its seems the
outlook express has got things like inbox.dbx whereas vista seem to use a
different system like inbox.eml can anyone throw some light in how to import
the files over please? - when I try to import the messages saying I want to
import from OE6 it says there are no files!!

This was extremely helpful for me. I thought I simply lost 7 years worth of
sent messages, but through the process from the link you provided, I got them
