Trouble HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Shakur

I have windows XP pro and I tried to install a new cd
burner drive and when I went to boot my computer it
stopped at verifying dmi pool and it won't leave that
point. I went to microsoft and downloaded the bootup disk
and that did not work. I was going to just install windows
xp home but was not sure. Can I just put xp home instead
of xp pro? Or will I need to get the xp pro disc again.
Please help i'm dying.

When the computer is running the power-on self test (POST), it may stop
responding (hang), and a "Verifying DMI pool data" error message may be
displayed. This issue is caused by the hardware. To resolve this issue,
contact your computer manufacturer.

Other than that, check the cables and power connections. And/or better yet
remove the added device and try again.
