Trouble Exporting to Excel

I have a report that has groups of records and about ten fields of data. At
the Top of each group in the group header I have the name of the group. In
the detail section I have those data fields. In the group footer I have the
sum of two fields in two text boxes. It all works great and exports to
excel with a little giggling of the "paste values" command in Excel. Looks
like a great report.

The trouble I have is that I need to identify those two calculated fields in
the group footer and the label for those fields will not export to Excel. In
the footer I get these two hanging numbers and no way to automatically label
them.

When I put the label control next to the calculated control in the group
footer it comes out great when I preview the report in Access and then
dissapears when I "analyze it with Excel."

Any suggestions?

It sounds like you may be using "free-range" labels on those two calculated
controls. If you open the report in design view and move one of the
calculated controls, does "its" label move also (i.e., is the label attached
to the textbox)?

If not, highlight a label and "cut" it, then highlight the control that
"owns" the label and "paste" it. This attaches the label to the textbox.

Thanks for your quick reply. I tried what you suggested and no change. I
would say it seems to only take data fields rather than label fields if it
did not take the labels for all the fields that are across the top of the
report in the page header. Is there something about a label box in the group
footer that Excel read differently than one in the page header?

I'm not aware of a problem here (but I know so little<g>!). So you are
saying that a control in a group footer does NOT get it's attached label to
convert over to EXCEL?

Have you tried searching on-line about this?

Let me re-state that question...

Have you used Google or other search engines to do an on-line search?
