Trouble connecting to specific sites.

I have been browsing all sorts of groups/forums in search of a solution
to my problem by mine seems askew. I cannot access any variation of a
wvu.edu website. I cannot access wvu.edu, star.wvu.edu, or mix.wvu.edu
.. My other two roommate have no problem accessing the sites so I have
ruled out ISP issues(Adelphia Cable). I have done extensive
Spyware/Adware searches(never had any problems really) with no
problems. It's interesting that I can navigate to star.wvu.edu via the
IP( 157.182.47.146) but I can't navigate anywhere past that without
typing the direct IP address. There aren't any sites in the HOSTS file
either. I tried a traceroute but I'm not sure how to read it. Here
goes:

raceroute to wvu.edu (157.182.140.119), 64 hops max, 44 byte packets

If you can reach a site by IP and not by name, the problem is usually
caused by incorrect DNS settings. If you have specific DNS settings
entered, try having them assigned dynamically. If they are already set
dynamically, then try using the router's IP address as the DNS. I
assume that you are using a router since you mention roommates.

Before you make the DNS changes, you might also want to do:
Start>Run>cmd [enter]
ipconfig /flushdns [enter]

Another possible cause is that browsers store history-entries by IP addres,
not DNS name. They also use the history as a sort of DNS cache to save
repeated lookups. Thus if the browser-history contains an incorrect entry for
these sites, then there will be no DNS lookup and the browser will keep
repeating the same mistake until the history entry is either manually
cleared, or times-out.
