trouble adding new appointments to calendar

when I push the new button nothing happends and it won't allow me to add or
save anything to calendar

It's outlook 2003 and its my home computer so I don't think i have an
exchange server (but am unsure)

If you had one you'd probably know it. Have you tried doing a Detect &
Repair on Outlook? (Help menu).

When did the problem start?
