How do you know that Defender is correct and not displaying a false
positive?

You could most probably scan with lots of spyware scanners and get different
results, they don't all have the same definition files, so you will find that
some find what other's don't and vice versa.

No matter how many times you scan , if it is false positive , it will appear
again and again because it is in the definitions .

To make sure it is / isn't false posotive:

Scan your computer with Panda's free Active Scan for ALL kind of threats:

All I can say is, I rid my system of all Norton products 2 years ago and my
computer is much happier for it!

Even through this Malware scanner is fairly new it does already have a good
reputation, you might want to give it a try for free (at least for a short
time).

Upload the file to Norton and contact them for a follow up. Also run two or
three online scanners to and compare the results. Update Norton by
downloading the newest definitions yourself not via Live Update.
