Reboot means to restart your computer.

Are you running XP? My guess is you will have to turn off
the system restore function by right clicking on My
Computer, then go to System Restore tab and disable the
System Restore. Reboot. Then enable system restore again
by doing the same thing but making sure the box is
checked.

This is of course assuming you are running Windows XP and
your trojan horse is stuck in the files to be used in the
event a system restore is necessary. Hope this works for
you.

try a spyware scan with spybot from safer-networking.org
and update scan on easy and remove (hopefully) dialer.
reboot means to restart or turn off and start. if your
system is set to, hold down your computer towers power
button for 5 seconds and it will safely shut down.

Two others gave good suggestions but didn't explain much or answer your
second question.

Virus active protection can detect infections in System Volume
information (which is where Restore points are stored used by System
Restore) but cannot remove them and a real-time a/v scan cannot scan
there because System Volume information is protected by the operating
system from being tampered with/changed by anything or anyone. That is
why your active protection shows the infected files there but the
real-time scan doesn't. Turning off System Restore will delete all
restore points from System Volume information, thereby removing the
infected file(s). Turning it back on will create a new restore point and
the system will keep adding new restore points automatically.

Reboot means the same thing as Restart the computer.

Greetings --

"Reboot" means to shut down and restart the computer.

The System Volume Information is the folder in which WinXP's
System Restore feature stores information used to recover from errors.

To clear viruses from the "System Volume Information," simply turn
off the System Restore feature (Start > All Programs > Accessories >
System Tools > System Restore, System Restore Settings), reboot, then
re-enable System Restore, and reboot one last time. This will delete
all of your Restore Points, including the corrupted one(s), and allow
you start with a clean slate.
