Trial version of 2007

Hi,

Does anyone know if the Trial version of Office 2007 can co-exist with an
earlier version of office? I currently have 2003 Pro and would rather not
have to re-install it if I don't want to stay with 2007 at the end of the
trial period.

If I were you I would download the free virtual pc from MS and install the
trial version there,note that you need to install an OS as well but it is
quite easy to setup and won't take more than an hour.
If you install it together with 2003 and then remove I can imagine there
might be hiccups, also note that if you are an intermediate to advanced user
of Excel you might dislike 2007

And even if you are not that unhappy with the new design you might want to
wait until the SP1 is released. Many people believe that you should always
wait for the first service pack release for all MS products when it comes to
OS and Office

BTW - Can you give me your thoughts on why intermediate users may dislike
2007?

I assume they are quite used using the menu layout of previous versions and
frankly it is a big difference. They might be used getting a menu item with
2 clicks and now it will take 4 or 5

You will see for yourself. I have met one person who likes it
wholeheartedly, most people I know while they like some of the improvements
they also think parts of it are horrendous. OK, these users are very
advanced users but nevertheless. There are also quite a lot of threads in
these newsgroups where people show their frustration. Waiting for the SP1 is
always a good way to go
