travan tape backup error

I am puzzled by the following backup log message. It first says can't mount
media, then operation ended. Then it says backup completed after 3 hrs.
Finally it says failed again. I saw the tape was ejected this morning.

I configured to backup 2 files only. So the info on directories, files, and
byte size is very confusing to me.

The bottom line is it failed! I have a 20/40G Travan tape. I'm wondering
whether that byte 20,358,099,150 number indicates the data file is too big?
May be I need to check the hardware compression?

Can someone help me to interpret the log message?

You should double-check that either Hardware Compression or Software Compression is enabled.
