Transmissive targets for profiling film scanners

The targets listed here are much cheaper than other sites. Some at prices
over $100. Are these Wolf Fausts junk or are they good for profiling my
Nikon film scanner?

Not at all. They are better than many other targets available on the
market (larger gamut, darker Dmax, closer to the specs, low standard
deviation within a batch). IMO Wolf is very ambitious, regarding
quality. Find a target better than his ones and show him, and I guess,
he'll try to beat it in future productions. Note that Wolf produces
large quantities of targets for commercial customers. Otherwise he could
not afford at all to offer low-priced high-quality targets in small
quantities to individual customers too. You may also regard this as
Wolf's special service for the "ordinary Joe". See also the section
"Quality" on the web site.

I'll add my comments to Gerhard's. The Wolf Faust targets are excellent.
I have used them on a Canon FS4000 and on the Nikon 9000 with which I
replaced it and each time it produced demonstrable improvement.

Here is a link to order targets cheaper, I have used their printed IT8
targets to profile my scanner and printer. I can't vouch for their
35mm slide target but @ $30.00 it wouldn't hurt to try one.
