TransferSpreadsheet:Operation Must use an Updateable Query

P

Phil Smith

The query in questions is a select query, and select queries DO NOT need
to be updateable queries. I can run this query all day long, and it
works fine. However, when I use "transferspreadsheet" to put that Query
into excel 8-10, That is the error I get.

Any Ideas?

That error often indicates that the path/filename stringfor where you want
the EXCEL file to be put may be too long -- I believe the limitation is 64
characters. It also might indicate that you don't have permission to write
into the folder where you want to put the EXCEL fle.

Can't be that, because I have 6 queries that I am sohoving into the same
spreadsheet, and it is not until the third one that I get this error.
However, maybe I am exceeding the space available in the worksheet tab
name. I will check into that.

Nope, not Tab size either.
My First query is named

InStocks-Bags & Packs-Apparel Accessories

It passes. My failing one is called

InStocks-Decks-Trucks-Etc

c:\instocktest.xls
Is the current location.

Never Mind. I rebuilt this particular query from scratch, and now it
seems to work fine.

Thanx
