transfering files via CDROM from Vista laptop to Win 98 SE desktopmachine

I'm using a Toshiba Satellite L30-101 with Vista Home Basic and just
512Meg, I want to exchange data with my Win 98se desktop machine
however, neither Microsofts or Toshibas software allows me to transfer
info back and forth repeatedly, I'm using Nero V6 on the Win98se
machine. I can tranfer files in one direction once only, I then have to
use a new CD-ROM which gets expensive and frustrating. If I try to do
more than one transfer either machine just shows nothing on the disk
media and will not write the disk. Can anyone help please?

Hi,

Get a network hub, switch, or router to connect the machines and then share
files between them to your hearts content. At least that's what I'd do.

If you want to use CD's to transfer between them, then at least use CDRW
media and format in between uses. If you try to rewrite or add additional
data to a one-write disk using multi-track sessions (UDF), the other machine
may not recognize it.

Do both of your PC's have network cards?
