transfering a previously made dvd to movie maker

i have a dvd from an analogue camcorder recorder which i now want to put on
to movie maker to add music etc. how do i save this to the computer?

Copy the vob files on the dvd to your hard drive.
Convert the vob files to wmv using an app like windows media encoder
import wmv file to MM
Edit happily
