Transfering a File from a remote location

I have been asked to modify a web because the people didn't know how to use
Frontpage and the person who created web is long gone. I created something
for them, removing Frontpage commands. Although there were no buttons on the
web to do so, I then learn this web was used to receive large files. I can
see a postinfo.htm file with upload info, however, when I try using the
author.exe, I believe it is looking for the Frontpage coding required in the
index.htm. Can anyone please, please copy and past this Frontpage info that
would appear in the index.htm so I can help these folks out? Your help would
very much be appreciated. (e-mail address removed)

what?

let's start with the URL of the website; post it here.

then let's work on rephrasing your question(s), I've read this 3x and I'm
not sure what you're asking.

There are no FrontPage specific commands in index.htm, unless there is a
form. Postinfo.htm is used when publishing web pages with Word or
Publisher. Author.exe is used by FrontPage (or Word or Publisher) when
editing on the server, or when publishing pages. It has nothing to do
with a user uploading files.

To use FrontPage forms to upload files you must either:
Use FrontPage extensions - all the FrontPage commands you removed must
be replaced. Rebuild the form and set form field properties as
required. (right click on a field and choose Field Properties.)
Also set the form to use the FrontPage extensions to process - right
click anywhere in the form and choose Form Properties. Set the
properties to save a file on the server, in the _private folder.

If there are no FrontPage extensions on the server (though the presence
of Postinfo.htm indicates they are installed) then you must use whatever
your host supports (asp, asp.NET, PHP, etc.) for form processing, and
the associated upload component.
