Transfer Wizard problem

I'm using the file & Settings Transfer Wizard before reformatting &
reinstalling the OS, but twice it's ending with an errror message "DELAYED
WRITE FAILURE." The file IMG00001.dat in a USM22.UNC folder has lost
data. But I have such a file and it's got 208MB in it. I'm transferring
files to an external hard drive (the /Archos MP3 player) which already has
data files backed up to it.

So what's gone wrong?

I take it youve set the FTW to run as "old computer" not new, when setting
up....If set correct,try R.clicking on the file,send to compressed
folder,send
in that format,or,send to a cdrw, that way its seperate from all hardware.
If you think the folders to large, set FTW to keep only data files, then reopen
set to save only settings, then create a folder, send to compressed or zipped
folder,then send.

Sounds like it's having trouble writing to the device.

A delayed write (If I remember correctly) is where it fills up a buffer,
then flushes that to the device in one fell swoop.

Try backing up to something else instead.
