Transfer select files

Needing to transfer OFFICE templates Only, from HDD on failed motherboard
computer to New build with New retail OS installed and fresh install of all
programs.
I've had tragic results (in the past) with transfer wizard and no longer
trust it. How can I find just these files and manually transfer? Thanks!

You'll have to reinstall the templates manually
from their original installation files.

Thanks for your response.
Original installation files? Do you mean from the Web option? These are
custom templates. Also, some WORD & EXCEL file folders refuse to be copied
or moved due to 'in use or write protected'. None are in use and none are wp.

Probably the easiest thing to do is remove the drive from the dead computer
and install it in the new computer as a secondary drive, or install it into
a USB enclosure and use it as an external drive. Then you can explore the
drive and find whatever files you need and copy them to the drive on the new
computer. After you've copied everything you need, you can format the drive
and you'll have some spare storage space.

Yes, since the motherboard is dead, that would be the only way to read a HDD
but, some files don't transfer.
