Hi, I am having a problem I cannot figure out on my own. Any help would be
much appreciated. I've tried everything I could think of to troubleshoot the
problem, including a lot of Googling.
Problem:
I installed Easy Media Creator 7 from Roxio. The first thing I noticed after
that was that when I put a blank CD into my CDRW drive the options of what
to do with it were no longer there. Also, I noticed that the drive
descrition in My Computer had turned from CDRW(G to CD(G.
Then when I inserted a blank disk into my DVD Burner it would pop up the
options menu, but the drive description would turn the DVDRW into a plain
old CDRW, after which I could no longer play a DVD because windows would not
recognize it as a DVD player.
The Device Manager sees all the drives as it should.
The strange thing is that this problem is still happening after a complete
reformat and reinstall of XP. Could Roxio have possibly changed my bios
settings?
One other note: the drive descriptions in Mycomputer all read fine until I
actually insert a blank disk. All was fine before Roxio.
Thanks for any help.
