Touchpad

I have an external mouse and I would like to disable the
touch pad and pointing stick mouse on my laptop, however
my laptop does not recognize the touchpad or pointing
stick as internal. They are fully functional but do not
appear on the Mouse properties, hardware device list. The
only thing recognized is a ps/2 mouse. I have tried
unplugging the external, rebooting and only using the
touchpad to try to trouble shoot this problem.

hmm.it should be listed on the hardware-> devices manager-> mice and other
pointing devices. if its not then you can use the fn key on your laptop. the
fn key along with a function key like F5,F6 on your laptop should disable
the touchpad. the funciton key should have a screen with a hand pointing on
it. so fn+(that function key).

i cant think of anything at the moment. you could try to contact your laptop
vendor. one more thing you could do is do a windows repair installation.
sorry cant add more.
