Total Number of Pages Changes

I am working on two different computers to create a document. The computers have identical hardware and software and are connected to the same laser printer. However, the total number of pages of my document changes depending on which computer I use. The format appears to be the same (i.e. font, font size, line spacing, tabs, etc.), but one computer appears to create slightly more spacing between the lines than the other computer, causing differences in the total page numbers of the document. How can I avoid this problem?

Hi, RH,

Make sure both computers are using the same printer *driver*, even to
checking the version numbers. This is the usual cause of differing
layout. See http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/Formatting/TextReflow.htm for a
discussion.

The other place to check is to make sure the settings in Tools >
Options > Compatibility are the same on both computers.
