Here's an old chestnut that comes round every now and again but personal tastes change so I'll resurrect the subject.

List your top dozen films that are your favourites, you've watched more than once and you'd happily watch again and not get bored.

Here's mine:

1) Pulp Fiction (1994)

2) The Godfather (1972)

3) Ben Hur (1959)

4) Amelie (2001)

5) Zulu (1964)

6) The Italian Job (1969)

7) Alien (1979)

8) Skyfall (007) (2012)

9) Star Wars IV - A New Hope (1977)

10) Get Carter (1971)

11) The Blues Brothers (1980)

12) Vanishing Point (1971)

That's a good list :) I'm always rubbish with films, because generally speaking I'm pretty easy to please. Films that I could watch over and over are tend to be either Disney classics or random things like Kill Bill

That being said, I'll have a think and see if I can attempt to present something that makes me appear more cultured than I am

6. Dr. Strangelove

7. Goodfellas

8. All About Eve

I don't know if I could list many that I'd watch again. I saw this thread last night and had a think it, but I can only think of a few that I would put on my list:
  • The Last King of Scotland
  • Shutter Island
  • Terminator 2
  • The Shawshank Redemption
  • Forrest Gump
  • Saving Private Ryan

Aye, I understand that, had to think hard myself.

There's 'List your favourite films' and then there's 'List films you'd watch and enjoy again' and that, as they say, makes all the difference.

Quite a few cropping up in these lists I've enjoyed and a fair few I've only watched part way through and given up on.

Yeah there are a few listed here that I was close to putting on my list (like Dr Strangelove), but there are others I've not even heard of. A couple on @nivrip's list (Citizen Kane and Annie Hall) I've heard mentioned lots of times as great films, so I will try adding a few of the suggestions here to my Netflix list.

I noticed you've got Alien listed on yours - which happens to be one of the next films we're watching (hopefully this weekend). I've got the full set of Alien films, I just need to get round to watching it :D.

Interesting topic! With regards to my top films I can and have/will watch again:

Avengers: Infinity War (in fact I have and will watch all Marvel films again for that matter, same goes for the Star Wars films.)
Alien
The Dark Knight
The Godfather
Pulp Fiction
Reservoir Dogs
Saving Private Ryan
Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi
Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back
Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope

Honorable mentions:
Rogue One
Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri
Downfall
Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels and Snatch
A Quiet Place
Get Out
Dunkirk
Rush
The Green Mile
Interstellar

I had to consult my IMDB ratings and I'm sure I've missed loads and I'd imagine this list would change if you asked me again. :D

A Quiet Place

We watched this recently, it was really good! Also I'm proud of myself that I seem more and more able to watch thriller type films (part of the reason Ian now feels comfortable making me watch Alien) :D
