Top 3 values in bar charts

Robbie Doo

Here's my situation: I have a "Error Classes" table, which has about 20
error codes. This table is linked to the Main_FS table and is used as a
drop-down on the form.

What I need to do is pick the top 3 errors for each month and show them on a
bar-chart with the percentage.

Any help?

Do you want all months to show in a single chart or do you want to display
one chart per month?

Duane:

Thank you, I used Allen's solutions.
It's funny, everything works fine until I insert a date criteria in the query.
I get an error msg that: "The Microsoft Jet database engine does not
recognize '[Forms].[ReportCriteria].[txtDate]' as a valid field name or
expression."

Did you search google on this error message? It gets answered every week.
Search on "Crosstab recognize". If you can't find the solution add
"Parameter" to the search string. If that doesn't work, come on back.

There are a number of resources regarding selecting the TOP N records per
group. You might want to check Allen Browne's solution at
http://www.allenbrowne.com/subquery-01.html#TopN.
