Tooltips Question Please

I'm not sure what it's called, but the little tooltip sign that pops up over
the time icon in the lower right hand corner of the desktop taskbar that
shows the date when you pass the mouse over it has hidden itself behind the
taskbar and can't be seen except for a very slight edge that shows you it's
there but not enough to reveal the date.
Can someone tell me what this sign is called and how I can get it back to
normal again. Even more importantly, I'd like to know what has caused it to
become hidden this way all of a sudden. Everything else is completely
normal.
Much thanks,
Dudley

Thanks. I'm not using the logon logoff feature. Can I just reboot and fix
it, or do I have to enable the logon, then disable it?

I rebooted and there's peace in the valley again. Thanks to you and Lisa
both.

This is NOT a fix, this is a workaround

What is to stop XP from doing the same thing next time you login? Restarting may work, but I want a REAL solution from Microsoft.

This won't turn them off completely but it will reduce the problem by quite
a bit. Open Windows Explorer, go to Tools, select Folder Options, go to the
View tab, remove the check from "Show pop-up description for folder and
desktop items," click apply and OK.

It helps if you either post in the thread where you original message was
posted so we know what it is you are talking about and what else has been
advised. If you want a solution from Microsoft, you will have to call them
directly. While some Microsoft employees do check these boards on occasion,
they are unmonitored and meant for peer to peer support.

I'm not employed by Microsoft.
