Tools > Startup confusion! Just need some basic 'security'

I have a database for class procedures. It contains information for several
different grades and classes and is used by a few teachers. I've made a
switchboard and configured the database to open up to it. I want to limit
the functions of the people using the data base to just entering data and
printing. I've been fooling around with the 'Startup' dialog box, checking
and un-checking items, closing and opening the file to see what happens. I
have un-checked ALL options except 'Allow Full Menus'. This gives me almost
exactly what I want. Except the 'View' menu is still there. If I un-check
'Allow Full Menus' and check 'Allow Default Shortcuts' it gives me exactly
what I want except it seems there is no going back. Once the full menus are
gone, there is no way to edit 'Startup', or anything else. Is there a way to
get the menus back?

I'd prefer not to set up accounts and passwords..... is that my only
alternative?

Hi
While always keeping a backup.
Do your changes.
Then if you want to get back into development mode, keep shift down while
your database starts up.
This is not very secure if you get a savvy user.

Thanks!

It will do what I want without setting up full blown security / users /
accounts / passwords....etc.

Almost too easy but I just need to keep out the users who open up the wrong
stuff by accident or think they know how to fix something and wind up
trashing it. (not guarding the any national secrets)

Just made me think of something can I remap the shift key function? I.e.,
start up while holding down another key?

That would require code to run and holding shift prevents the running of any
startup code.
